Claire was my Saxophone instructor at the Brit School of Performing Arts and today I’m a Berklee alumni and work as a professional musician. She has been a crucial figure on my musical journey and helped me discover who I am artistically. If you’re looking for clear guidance, encouragement, and a passionate music teacher. Claire Tilby is the one for you!

I wanted some private lessons from Claire to help me improve my singing, she was referred to me by a friend who learned Piano from her and I am VERY happy I chose her. She didn’t just stick with pushing the same approaches when I struggled to follow instructions, she worked out different ways to help me achieve my goals and spent extra time adapting her materials to ensure I got the most from her tuition – would HIGHLY recommend Claire to any music student (not just voice) because of her can-do attitude and open approach to teaching that centres on the student as an individual – I’m looking forward to my next batch of lessons as she pulls from me far more than I thought I was capable of!

Claire taught both my daughters piano age 5 & 7 at the time and they really enjoyed their weekly lessons. Claire progressed my eldest daughter to pass her first piano exam with ABRSM & both covered music theory alongside their learning to play piano. We found Claire to be patient, kind & always good to respond to emails & queries quickly.

We then relocated abroad but would have definitely stayed with Claire to progress them further. I highly recommend Claire & her passion for music shines through 

Claire taught both my children how to play piano from from 2016 to 2022. Claire is a musician that is able to convey her love for music to both my children. They think back to Claire as the teacher that taught them how to live life through musical notes. Claire has managed to magically transfer her love to both our children and for that we are so grateful. This is something that is priceless as my children can look back fondly on the kind, patience and knowledgeable teacher that have given them the gift of music. I highly recommend Claire as a piano teacher and as someone who can make a positive impression on young minds. Thank you Claire for all that you have done for our family.

Whilst studying music at The BRIT School, I took some peripatetic piano lessons with Claire. She has a great approach to teaching, and catered the lessons to accommodate my lack of reading abilities, and the genres of music which I wished to focus on.

Claire is an excellent and compassionate teacher who I feel very fortunate to have been taught by. She always went the extra mile and her expertise and experience helped guide me.
